Cosgrove Parish Council

Website Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to https://www.cosgroveparishcouncil.gov.uk/

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.

For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Cosgrove Parish Council is committed to making its website accessible. This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non compliances and exceptions listed below.

Some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • Some older PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software.
  • Some form elements may not have associated labels.
  • Certain interactive elements may lack sufficient keyboard focus indicators.
  • Some images may be missing descriptive alternative text.

We are actively working to resolve these issues and improve accessibility across all content.

What we are doing to improve accessibility

We are

  • Conducting regular accessibility audits using automated and manual testing.
  • Updating our content and templates to meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
  • Training staff on inclusive design and accessibility best practices.
  • Reviewing this statement annually and after major website updates.

Disproportionate burden

At present, we believe that making some legacy documents fully accessible would be a disproportionate burden. However we will provide accessible versions on request.
